La Ronda

Traditional Moroccan card games, such as Ronda, have always been part of my cultural environment and heritage. It is a game that holds significant importance in the collective memory and public sphere in Morocco. I have been inspired by the symbolism of the cards and their historical background stemming from colonization. Through my art, I reinvent a deck of cards that is imbued with key aspects of Moroccan culture while offering a new perspective within a context of modernity. My aim is to give a central place to Moroccan women. This omnipresence confronts the reality where women, often forgotten, play a secondary role.
